The Alamo
A mission small and old
Yet the souls that fought
Were strong and bold.
On February 23rd
Santa Anna started a fight
They fought all day and rested at night.
The battle raged on
It made feelings of fear, loss, and dread
At last, March 6th
200 soldiers lay dead.
This sparked a flame in Sam Houston’s eye
Then, at San Jacinto
He yelled his famous cry
“Remember The Alamo!”
A saying known far and wide
Where the win of Texas is never denied.
